Paper bead making is not a new thing for some people specially those who are into arts and craft making. For some people, they have experienced paper bead making during their childhood on how to create one, but for me, I don’t remember someone thought me this kind of craft. I haven’t learned this craft from school during my childhood days. I only knew how to create my paper beads four years ago after I stumble a paper bead video tutorial in YouTube while browsing for some interesting art crafts.
After watching that video tutorial in YouTube, I got interested. I made some research and learned that it is a traditional craft and was popular during the Victorian times. However, paper bead making today has evolved to a higher degree of craftsmanship. Many have turned a simple paper to a beautiful jewelry, purse, wall decor, ornaments and a lot more.
I am always fascinated with papers. During my childhood, I love collecting scraps from papers, magazines, brochures and other things that for me could still be turned into something useful. I never realize that I could use them in paper bead making.
I love to create personalized birthday cards for my friends instead of buying it. I even created my wedding invitations and my brother’s wedding invites when we both got married. Every time we have an art projects in school back then, I am one of those who are excited while most of the girls are worried. I would love to compete with the guys making myself sure that I would get the highest grades in our art class. So, to make the story short, I love arts and craft since I was a child.
Paper bead making is fun and exciting. However, it requires patience and determination to create one. Patience from cutting your paper into strips, down to rolling each strips of paper to your desired beads and finally coating each beads with a sealant or adhesive to make it durable.
Then if you want your paper beads to have a glass glossy like finish, you still need to glaze each bead to make it water-resistant.
Now that you have created your own beads, you can make your own fashion jewelries like earrings, bracelets or a fancy necklace to go with your daily outfit. The possibilities are endless, you just need to use your imagination and be creative.
